Who am I?

So far all I've done are events at our church.  I love being around little kids (probably because I miss my grand-kids!).  If I remember correctly, earlier this year while we were planning an event someone asked if we could find a face painter somewhere & I just volunteered for it.  This was something I had never done but I've always loved drawing and I am not too bad at it!

So I headed to my favorite website, did a bit of research and purchased a little Snazaroo Beginners palette.  I practiced at home on my arm & when the time came, I just jumped right in it!  Yes, I was nervous but it only took me a few minutes to realize that the kids didn't care... they were just so happy to have this done to them.

I was more concerned with what the parents would say but I reminded myself that this was offered to everyone for free... What's the saying?  Beggars can't be choosers?  But to my surprise, parents were very happy with my work.  What an ego booster!  :-)

I was then invited to paint kids at a Girls Scout party in Riceville.  I had a great time there & it made me really happy to be able to make these kids smile!

It didn't take me long to realize that I needed more & better paints - and why not capitalize on what I do?  I'm happy as long as I cover my expenses.  My true goal is making kids smile!

About quality face paints, wow... I had no idea how much these little containers cost!  Of course, I could always get cheap stuff at Walmart but that's what that is.. cheap stuff!  Working on young delicate skin, it's just not worth it to go the cheap route.  In the end, high quality products are much easier to work worth & produce better results.

Here's a little more about myself.  My husband Scott & I are active members of our Church and we are both Virtus trained.  What that means is that we are both certified and trained to work with children.

Together we have 7 totally adorable grand-children... 4 in Pennsylvania, 2 in the Philippines, and 1 in Canada.   We certainly don't see them as often as we'd like but we're working on that!

My husband is an Aspirant deacon & is currently enrolled in a 4 year program with the Knoxville diocese.  If you're interested, I blog about this unique experience.

That's about it!  So, if you're ready to talk about your event, just give me a call!
